Almanac: Preface

 

Almanac is an investigation of British folklore, involving a collection of personal ephemera and long exposure pinhole photographs that document the singing of folk songs.

This series marks the beginning of my immersive interest in British folklore, traditions and customs. Following found practises from the past and present in an effort to reconnect with my history, family and home. Almanac leaves room for endless cycles and renditions of annual events, the series perpetually growing alongside the progression of time.
